Yes, it’s true.  We will only be accepting PDF book blocks for review.  Why? NYQ Reviews is passionate about poetry, but we are also passionate about other important things–like the environment.  NYQ Reviews seeks to harness all the benefits of the technical advances of our age as we pioneer this new approach to the old book reviewing paradigm.  In the global atmosphere, the goal of NYQ Reviews will be to:

• Allow around the world access to poetry books, widening the pool of reviewers to include a diverse range of voices not limited by economics or geography.
• Eliminate shipping and handling costs from publishers, in particular, the cash strapped indie and small presses which are struggling to survive in today’s economy.
• Promote quality poetry books with fair, even-handed reviews; thereby helping readers to make discerning choices.

We believe that this method will increase opprotunities for reviewers to participate in enriching contemporary poetry criticism, and possibly result in increasing the audience for poetry.

Reviewers will be carefully screened to ensure copyright laws (that apply to both print and electronic publications) will be adhered to.
