Dell Inspiron 17 5000 UK Review

Today I’m going to talk about the quad core Dell Inspiron 17 5000 laptop. While some would argue that it’s not a high end machine, I would point out that it includes some features that you wouldn’t notice at first glance.

17.3″ display LED Backlight with HD+ Truelife Display
AMD Radeon R5 Graphics Card
8GB DDR3L RAM memory
1TB hard drive

Pros

Take a look at the spec sheet above and tell me that this machine isn’t a beast. From the uncompromising 17.3″ LED HD display right down to the graphics card. Yes, the A8-7410 APU processor isn’t the fast thing on the market but it hold its own when compared to the starter Intel Core i5 series such as the 5200U.

The Radeon R5 Graphics Card will provide great graphics while gaming and enhance the HD display on the LED screen.

And I don’t want to forget to mention some neat additions that this Dell laptop includes buit-in such as a HD webcam, 3-in-1 card reader and Bluetooth 4.0. So throw away that cheap card reader since you won’t need it any longer.

Cons

Because of the size of the 17.3″ screen, the weight of this laptop is slightly heavier than other models and comes in at 6.22 lbs or 2.82 kg. But I would personally sacrifice the added weight for the beautiful screen and feel of working on a full size display desktop monitor.

Verdict

All in all, the Dell Inspiron 17 5000 would make an extremely solid purchase for anything from day to day tasks, entertainment due to its screen or as a work PC. And with the RAM and the 1 TB Hard Drive space, you’ll have plenty of room to grow.
